Building Twitter Followers
Written by Brandon on February 2nd, 2010 | 2 CommentsTwitter is one of the fast growing Web 2.0 social sites. With the up to the second news updates, it is one of the best ways to learn about news as it happens.
A Twitter follower is somebody who has opted to watch your Tweets to see what you are saying. It is like building up a mailing list with a tool such as Aweber. Build up enough followers related to your niche and it could bring in a huge amount of leads. Twitter marketing is huge now a days, but lots of people do not know how to build up their followers!
The Legit Way:
Sure you can build up followers simply by Tweeting and people finding your tweets interesting and following you, or by linking it off your site. Unless your site is VERY popular it may take months to build up followers.
The Faster Way:
Mass following people based on the keyword(s) you are targeting and then unfollowing those who don’t follow back allows you to build followers fast. I use a tool offered by SocialOomph to automatically follow those who follow me, and vice versa.
I then use a tool, such as the one offered by PyrogenicMedia to mass follow people. I can follow people based on a keyword, or follow the followers of somebody. This is good if I found somebody in my niche, I would just set it to follow their followers.
Simply enter your username and password, then choose the keyword or user to grab the followers from.
Warning: DO NOT TRY AND ADD MORE THAN 500 FOLLOWERS A DAY, YOU WILL GET SUSPENDED!
A day or two later, use a site such as Twitter Karma and have it unfollow all those who are not following you.
Same rule applies with following people, Do NOT try and unfollow more than 500 people a day!
Another tool you can use is called TweetAdder. This tool automates the process of following and unfollowing people each day, as well as scheduled tweets and everything. It is not free, but there is a demo and I highly recommend this application. It works on both Mac and Windows based computers and saves a whole lot of time in this process. It can even build more than one Twitter account at once all at scheduled times. It truly is a set it and forget it process with this. Again, if you are interested in that, get it here: TweetAdder
Who knows, If i find time I may create a web based version of these tools to allow easier Twitter marketing right from BrandonBlogs.com!
